Kentucky State Parks are open and ready for another spring and summer season of guests enjoying outdoor activities all across the state.

“Our 49 parks have something for everyone – recreation, history, wildlife viewing, fishing, boating and more,” Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said. “We invite Kentuckians and our out-of-state guests to visit one or more of our parks this year.”

All 17 resort parks with lodging and restaurants are open seven days a week. All recreation parks and historic sites are also open. Visitors should check the parks website, www.parks.ky.gov, for hours and special events.

The park system’s 31 campgrounds and 16 golf courses are also open.

Upcoming special events include Camper Appreciation Weekend April 24-26, when campers can get two nights for the price of one. The Mother’s Day buffet will be May 10 at the resort park restaurants.

Other events include Derby weekends, hikes, paddle trips, entertainment and more. Visit www.parks.ky.gov for reservations and information.
