Watershed Watch Offers Training in Water Samples
FRANKFORT, KY - Kentucky Watershed Watch Program is offering free training to volunteers interested in monitoring water quality in the Upper Green River Basin.
The program, an initiative of the Kentucky Division of Water, provides training in how to take water samples and how to collect basic water quality data.
The training is set for 8:30 a.m. to noon CDT Sept. 8 at Western Kentucky University's Engineering Biologic Science Building.
The volunteers will take part in three annual sampling events of streams in Adair, Allen, Barren, Breckenridge, Butler, Casey, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Taylor and Warren counties.
The streams will be tested for pesticides, herbicides, pathogens, metals and salts.
