A magnitude 2.4 earthquake was reported along the New Madrid Fault Line Thursday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the quake was centered near the Point Pleasant community in southeast Missouri, 28 miles west of Union City, TN and 28 miles south of Sikeston. It occurred at 7:39 am CDT

The USGS says that a quake of 2.5 is the threshold of humans being able to detect the ground shaking. No damage has been reported from this earthquake.
