Former Pikeville Mayor Pleads Guilty
PIKEVILLE, TN - Former Pikeville Mayor Greg Johnson has pleaded guilty to one count each of misconduct and theft.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press cited court officials in reporting that Johnson entered a plea on Monday in the case. He was arrested last July and resigned from public office in September.
A report from the state comptroller's office found Johnson cost the city $250,000 because of fraud, waste and abuse.
A plea form did not indicate when Johnson would be sentenced, but court officials said it would be sometime in September.
