A Tennessee man suspected of burglary and assault in McCracken County has been arrested.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday, October 16, McCracken County detectives began investigating a burglary and assault complaint on Bullard Street.

A man and woman who knew the victim came her home and allegedly started a confrontation regarding a child. When the victim told the pair to leave the property, the man allegedly forced his way inside the home and threatened the home owner with a knife and punched her. The man and woman then fled when law enforcement were contacted.

Within 48 hours of the initial call, detectives say they were able to identify the man as 34-year-old Anthony R. Phoenix of Wildersville, TN. Detectives worked with law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels in attempts to locate and arrest Phoenix, but he fled multiple agencies to avoid being caught.

On Monday, December 2, law enforcement officers found Phoenix in Decatur County, TN. Phoenix was taken into custody on multiple charges from Tennessee, including attempted murder of a police officer. He was also served with an arrest warrant from McCracken County.

Phoenix is currently incarcerated in Tennessee and awaiting extradition back to McCracken County.
