Next time you fly out of Nashville International, you may be surprised to see heavily armed police walking around with semi automatic M6 rifles, like airports in other parts of the world.

The airports Chief Operating Officer told our friends at Fox 17 in Nashville, that two weeks ago the airport phased in stepped up security on the heels of many attacks in our country and around the globe.

"I would say for the foreseeable future it will be the new normal, we receive daily intelligence from the FBI, TBI, local law enforcement, and given the threat and terrorism seen around the world this is probably the new normal for all the airports", said, C-O-O Doug Kreulen to Fox 17.

Fox 17 reports that passengers were surprised at the highly visible guns.  Many western Kentucky residents use Nashville International for their flights.
