Murray Shoplifting Call Leads to Four Arrests

MURRAY - Four people were arrested after an investigation into shoplifting in Murray on Sunday.

Murray Police responded to Walmart, but a suspect had left the scene before they arrived. Officers later found the suspect's vehicle, and there were four people inside. Police learned that all of them were wanted on arrest warrants, and some of them face additional charges from Sunday's investigation. 

Police arrested 41-year-old Kelly Morton of Mount Juliet, Tennessee for theft by unlawful taking under $500, and on a Calloway County warrant for theft by unlawful taking over $500. 

Thirty-nine-year-old Miranda Ransel of Buchanan, Tennessee was arrested for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also served with a felony arrest warrant out of Tennessee.

Police arrested 25-year-old Teara Dunn of Almo on a bail jumping warrant from Calloway County, and on charges of hindering prosecution 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Also arrested was 62-year-old Charlie Ferguson of New Concord. He was wanted on a felony arrest warrant from Tennessee. 

All four were taken to the Calloway County Jail.
