Banks, Kay

Mrs. Kay Banks, 71 of Murray, went to be with the Lord following heart surgery on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Lourdes Healthcare in Paducah. Kay was born on October 19, 1947 in Murray, KY to the late Herbert and Ruth Sheriffius Hughes of Lynn Grove. Kay was a member of the Murray High School Class of 1965 and held a Master’s in Education from Murray State University. She was retired from TWA with many miles of service and from Walmart in Murray with 29 years service. Kay married Craig Banks in 2005 and they were members of Hope Harbor Church in Murray. Kay enjoyed her horses, RV'ing and sharing her faith with all who would listen. She is preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Craig Banks of Murray; a daughter, Laura Bennett Ray (Will) of Murray; a step son, Devin Banks of Murray; five step daughters, Tracy Banks of Mississippi, Leslie Lockhart (Gene Dale) of Murray, Dea Chenot (Billy) of Independence, KY, Andrea Goetz (Philip) of Connecticut, Samantha Bennett of California; two brothers, Wayne Hughes (Jill) of Owensboro, Roger Hughes (Marilyn) of Auburn, KY; a sister, Jan Smith (Gary) of Spring Hill, FL and seven grandchildren, Ezra Banks, Macy Chenot, Edyn Chenot, Conner Lockhart, Cole Lockhart, Foster Goetz and Sasha Goetz. The funeral service is set for 11 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hope Harbor Church, 2771 Hwy 94 East, Murray with Art Heinz officiating. Her family welcomes visitors from 5 PM-8 PM on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray.
