John Albert Smock

John Albert Smock, age, 60, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at his home surrounded by the love of his family. John loved being a Registered Nurse in his community and he worked as a nurse for over 25 years serving others and taking care of people in need. He will be deeply missed. John loved his family more than anything. He is survived by one daughter, Jessica (Tanner) Thomas of Paducah, Kentucky, Two sons Justin (Kara) Shoulta of Ledbetter, Kentucky, Tyler (Samantha) Shoulta of Paducah, Kentucky and his mother Carol Smock of Rosiclare, Illinois. Two brothers, James Howard (Tina) Smock Jr. of Golconda, Illinois. David Smock of Paducah, Kentucky, Five grandchildren: Cooper Shoulta, Alivia Shoulta, Chandler Shoulta, Ryker Shoulta and Ender Shoulta. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins. He also loved his four dogs: Maddie, Bella, Z, and Boomer. John was preceded in death by his father, James Howard Smock, his grandparents: Glen and Juanita Smock and Don and Billie Williams, several uncles and aunts. A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2026 at 4:00 PM at his church, Community Chapel in Golconda, IL.
