Robert Lucian Ray, 80, of Boaz, died Thursday at Lourdes Hospital.

He was born in Paducah on December 12, 1931 to the late Olis Clayton Ray and Virgie Lee Crawford Ray. He was a pipefitter and was a member of Plumber and Pipefitter Union #184. He was also a member of Gospel Mission.

He is survived by two children, Ronnie Ray and wife Millie of Paducah and Connie Schneider and husband Kent of Louisville; a grandson, Ron Ray and wife Denise of Georgetown, KY; two great-grandsons, Reed Landon Ray and Braydon Alexandar Ray of Georgetown, KY; a step grandson, Jordan Carpenter of Canada; a sister, Velva Jean Bristoe of Possum Trot; a brother, Donnie E. Ray, Sr. of Noblesville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Frances Eleta Spicer.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Wes Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Provine Cemetery in Benton. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
