Betty Memenga Brueggert , 87, of Golconda, Illinois, died Monday, October 8, 2018 at Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Betty was born in Kankakee, Illinois on July 3, 1931 to Harry and Vina Phillipo Memenga. She was a school bus driver for Kankakee Public School system. Betty was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church for many years.
Surviving are her husband, Armand A. Brueggert; grandchildren, Mark (Brittney)Brueggert, Richard Brueggert, Peter (Jennifer) Collins, Anissa (Kye) Greenhalgh, Mia (Steve) King and Erica (Nick) Wall; great-grandchildren, Max Brueggert, Janessa Brueggert, Nicholas Wall, Ryan Wall, Lane Wall, Adilynn Collins, Aiden Collins, Ariella Collins, Andrew Chung, Ninella Padilla, JJ Ceja, Evelyn Greenhalgh, and Cambria Greenhalgh; and her sister, Leona Borders of Ft. Wayne, IN.
Preceding her in death were her children, Wendy Collins and Larry Brueggert; sister, Dorothy Velluntini; and her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 11am Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Metropolis, IL. Pastor Kent Hollis will officiate. Urn burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorial visitation will begin at 10am Monday at the church.
