Mr. Gary L. Atnip, 69 of Brookport, IL, formerly of Danville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Metropolis, IL with Rev. Shalom Renner officiating.
Gary was a retired truck driver and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Metropolis.
Gary is survived by his wife Bonnie Atnip of Brookport; three daughters, Angela Montez, Leslie Atnip, and Mary Marshall and husband Shane all of Indianapolis, IN; two stepchildren, Melissa Miracle and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, OK and Jason Landrum of Gosport, IN; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Teresa Dimmick and Sharon Atnip; two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron E. and Mary K. (Worthen) Atnip.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis. There will be no funeral; graveside services will immediately follow.
Expressions of sympathy may be given in the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund 100 E. 5th St. Metropolis, IL 62960.
