Lisa Hammonds Dargert, age 52, our most beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, won her victory of healing in heaven at 6:20 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at her home in Monee, IL, surrounded by loved ones.

Lisa was always smiling, she was loved by so many and her presence would light up the room.  She loved people, they were her passion and her excitement for life was contagious. She attended Country Club Hills, Baptist Church growing up andn was a current member of Peace Lutheran Church in New Lebanon, IL.  She worked at Peotone Elementary in Peotone Illinois, where she was an aid to children with special needs. She was a volunteer for the Peotone Booster Club and enjoyed attending sporting events, especially wrestling meets and football games. She lived her life with exhilaration, and loved attending her chicken farm, going to the beach, walking her dog and spending time with her family. Everything she did she gave it her all, always putting others first.

Lisa is survived by her husband Chuck Dargert, a daughter Samantha Jo Dargert and son Clay Dargert: her faithful dog, Buddy and cat, Spring; her parents Fred and Margie (Petty) Hammonds of Paducah, two sisters Marcia Orlovich (her faithful caregiver) and husband Richard of Manhatton, Illinois, Freida Cardwell and  husband Chet of Sikeston, Mo. and a brother Fred Hammonds Jr. of Kevil, two aunts Carolyn Petty and Rachel Hammonds, two uncles Jessie Hammonds and wife Margaret, Luch Carter, many nieces and nephews (who she adored) and many cousins. She is also survived by her 100’s of friends on Facebook who have supported her during her courageous battle and meant so much to her through their prayers and encouragement.  I know she would say “thank you, I love you and will see you later.”

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Edward Layton and Verdie Thurston Petty: Sid and Rosie Green Hammonds.

Services for Lisa will be at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah on Wednesday March 11th at 2:00 P.M.  Pastor Jared Hayes will officiate with burial following at Owens Chapel where she will be laid to rest with her family that has gone on before her.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday night March 10th, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

The pall bearers are, Paul Carter, Kevin Hammonds, Michael Hammonds, Greg Hammonds, Gary Hammonds, Ampie Hammonds and Bill Polley.

One of Lisa’s last requests was that she hopes she is singing in the angel’s choir!
