Michael E. “Mike” Crim, age 54 years, a resident of Paducah and a native of the  Brownfield community in Pope County Illinois, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, December 20, 2017, at 10:40 AM at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.

Mike was born January 12, 1963 in Metropolis, Illinois.  He was the son of James E. Crim, Jr. and Eudora (Crossland) Crim.

On April 29, 2000, Mike was united in marriage to Starla Jane McCauley at the White Oak Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky.  She preceded him in death on September 2, 2015.

Mike is survived by:  his mother – Eudora Crim of the Brownfield community; 2 children – Antoine McCauley of Louisville, Kentucky and KeiMocia McCauley of Paducah, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren – Saniya Mitchell, Zakiya Mitchell, Jontavius McCauley, Josiah Dye, Antoine McCauley, Jr. and Ayden McCauley; a sister – Marie E. Crim of Paducah, Kentucky and 2 brothers – Bruce E. Crim of the Brownfield community and Jason E. Crim of Carterville; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Mike was preceded in death by:  his father – James E. Crim, Jr.; his paternal grandparents – James E. Crim, Sr. & Opal Crim; and his maternal grandparents – James Luther Crossland and Lubertha Crossland.

Mike was a 1981 graduate of the Pope County Community High School.  He had also received training and certification in welding.  Mike had worked as a plumber and was employed as an operator at Electric Energy, Inc. (E.E.I.) at Joppa.

Mike was a faithful Christian and loved the Lord.  He enjoyed attending Sunday School and Church and was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in the Brownfield Community.

Mike enjoyed farming.  He cherished time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.  Mike was also an avid Duke Blue Devil’s Basketball fan.

A service honoring the life of Michael E. Crim will be conducted Tuesday morning, December 26, 2017, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pastor Benny Heady, Pastor  Calvin Cole and Pastor Ronnie White will officiate.

Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery near Brownfield.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning, December 26, 2017, from 10 AM – 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
