Sylvia Pearcy, 80, of New Columbia, formerly of Brookport, IL, died Wednesday January 14 2015 at her home.
A memorial service to celebrate Sylvia’s life will be held Saturday January 17th at the Brookport First Baptist Church at 11:00 AM.
Sylvia was born on April 20, 1934 in Calvert City, KY, the daughter of Lee and Lennie (Ham) Adkinson. She married Maurice L. Pearcy on March 7, 1955 in Corinth, MS.
Surviving are her husband, Maurice L. Pearcy of New Columbia; sister, Louise Chandler of Dallas, TX; son, Terry (Jan) Pearcy of Sullivan, IL; daughter, Karen (Randy) Moss of Paducah, KY; son, Tim (Sherri) Pearcy of New Columbia, IL; grandchildren, Joni (Stanley) Reed, Beth (Joe) Milam, Travis (Ashley) Pearcy, Ben (Rohit Singh) Pearcy, Joe (Kelsey) Pearcy, Riley Pearcy, Emma Pearcy, Hudson Pearcy, and Hope Pearcy; great-grandchildren, Lucas Reed, Aaron Reed, Sarah Kate Reed, Gabe Milam, Zack Milam, Cooper Pearcy, Brady Pearcy, Addison Pearcy, and Darby Pearcy. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Lennie Adkinson; brother, Cleo Adkinson; brother, Rudy Adkinson; sister Leota Stanley; sister, Evelyn Paris; brother, William Adkinson; brother, Thomas Adkinson; brother, David Adkinson; brother, baby boy (stillborn).
Sylvia was a homemaker, loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was especially full of joy when the little ones were around.
Memorials in lieu of flowers should be made to Hope Unlimited Family Care Center in Paducah.
