Zelma Sasseen, age 82, of Paducah died at 6:45 pm Friday, April 27 at her residence. For many years she was a secretary for Burkhart’s foam company in Cario, IL. Later in life she became the owner and operator of her own babysitting service in Paducah. She was a member of West End Baptist Church where she was very active in many of the churches organizations, the bus ministry and taught Sunday school for many years. She is survived by her two daughters; Cathy and husband Phillip Yates of Paducah, Denise and husband Kenneth Reineking of Paducah. One son; Bobby and wife Mariellen Sasseen of Franklin, TN. She leaves behind eight grandchildren; Bridget and husband Dale Garrett of Paducah, Derek and wife Candace Melloy of Paducah, Amy Reineking of Paducah, Christopher Yates of Chicago, IL, Samuel Yates of Paducah, Wesley, David and Kelly Sasseen all of Franklin, TN. Four sisters; Amanda Sasseen of Cario, IL, Linda Knipe of Little Rock, AR, Ann Russell of Mounds, IL, and Sharon Gazaway of Beaumont, TX. She is preceded by her husband Edwin Sassen, one sister and five brothers. Her parents were John Thomas and Mary Alma Green Sutterfield. Funeral services for Zelma Sasseen will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 3, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev. Terry Sills will officiate.
