C. P. “Penny” Davis, 98, of Arlington, KY passed away at Continue Care Hospital in Paducah, on Sunday, May 14, 2017.
Mr. Davis was born in Arlington, Ky on May 28, 1918 to his parents, Marion Walter and Myrtle Pyle Davis.
He served in the US Army during WWII and worked for TVA as a material tester for thirty years. He was a life-long member and the oldest living member of Arlington United Methodist Church. He was active for many years in the Carlisle County Senior Citizens, especially in the “Golden Oldies” Kitchen Band and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.
He is survived by his daughters, Renee Vinson and husband, William, of Symsonia, KY; Deborah Morris and husband, David, of Humbolt, TN; and Gayle Sykes and husband, Phil, of Loganville, GA; five grandchildren, Lee Sykes, Christopher Sykes, Roma Bruce, Rachel Crawford, and Erica Smith; and four great grandchildren. He was also survived by his loving, devoted niece, Susan Davis Fritts and husband, Ken of Arlington and his nephew, Joe Davis and his wife Louisa, of Louisville, KY.
He was preceded by his parents; his wife of forty three years, Louise Duncan Davis; sisters, Lillie Reid Davis Mullin and Maude Davis-Fisher; and brothers, Walter Lee Davis, Ernest Davis, and Clarence Davis.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Arlington at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Arlington cemetery. Visitaion will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
