Carolyn “Nana” Burpo, age 65, passed away at 6:50 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Burpo was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Arlington where she was a member of the Shiloh Sisters. She was a teacher’s aide for Hickman County Elementary and the Carlisle County Schools. She also worked for the Sonshine Friends Day-Care of the Clinton First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Burpo of Bardwell; daughter, Mendey Blake of Daytona, FL; son, Brian Pickard of Clinton; mother, Susan (Estes) Kirby of Arlington; step-daughter, Christy Elder of Fancy Farm; step-sons, Kyle Burpo of Paducah and Tim Burpo of Arlington; sister, Suzanne Yarbrough of Arlington; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Coy Kirby; and one brother, Jenkie Kirby.
Funeral services will held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Rev. Gaylon Bruer officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the funeral home.
