Floyd Eugene Baker, age 79, of Kuttawa, KY and formerly of Casper, Wyoming, passed away at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Floyd was born in Eldorado, IL and grew up in Crossville, IL where he graduated from Crossville High School. Floyd was an outstanding father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many. He loved this country and was so grateful to those who served in all branches of the military. Floyd adored his family and Martha Trotter, his special friend. Floyd loved the Rocky Mountain states of Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and New Mexico and tried to make a trip out west each summer. Floyd and Martha had just been to Wyoming in July to enjoy time with his sons, their wives and families, and close friends. The family feels Floyd’s nephew, David Bishop's toast says it best, David said. “Cheers Floyd! Your humor, your love, your perspective, your dreams and your presence will be missed. We are grateful for the time we got to spend with you.”
Survivors include two sons, Paul E. (Anni) Baker of Laramie, Wyoming, Edward A. (Shelia) Baker of Casper, Wyoming; one sister, Betty Lou “Lucy” Baker Bishop; one brother, Derwood Baker, Woodlawn, IL; three grandchildren, Kellie Baker Perry, Whitney Barnes, and Jaci (Jeremy) Grudle; and several great-grandchildren, and extended great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were parents, Floyd Bertram Baker & Eleanor Williams Baker; one sister, Dorothy Louise Baker and one brother, Donald Baker.
At his request there will be no public services, celebration will take place later with family and friends in Kentucky and Wyoming.
