Uneda Mofield Burgess, age 94, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at 5:52 A.M. on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Clinton Place Nursing Home.
Uneda was born in Carlisle County on January 18, 1924 to the late Willis and Tina (Thomason) Mofield. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Happy Survivors Club in Indianapolis, Indiana. Uneda retired from CVS Pharmacy, formerly Hooks Drugs, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Edward Burgess and William Keith Burgess both of Indianapolis, Indiana; son-in-law James Suits Sr. of Eldorado, Illinois; two brothers, Donald Ralph Mofield of Atlanta, Georgia and David Mofield of Arlington; five grandchildren, Cindy McGhee, James Suits Jr. Stephanie Klyber, Joey Burgess and Brandie Burgess; seven great-grandchildren, Shane Sims, Kyle Sims, James Suits III, Brandi Rash, Alex Klyber, Mia Klyber and Ethan Klyber; and eight great great-grandchildren, Shane Sims Jr., Jaedon Sims, Alayna Sims, Maddox Rash, Mila Rash, Lucille Burgess, Scarlett Burgess and Mckenzie Burgess
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Leon Burgess; daughter, Phyllis Suits; son, Freddie Wayne Burgess; her parents; five sisters, Omeda Coats, Eula Lamm, Laura Rogers, Jeanette Riley and Beaulan Mofield; a brother, Owen Mofield; and grandson, Josh Burgess.
A funeral service for Uneda will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Rev. Ricky Yarbrough officiating. Burial to follow at Burkley Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. until service time at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
