Mr. Bobby Gene Travis, age, 85 of Hardin, KY passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Anna Mae Owen Hospice House in Murray, KY.
Born Monday, September 28, 1931 in Aurora, KY, he was the son of the late John L. Travis and the late Lava (Thorn) Travis. He worked for over 35 years as a Hyster Operator with the Tappen Stove Company in Murray, KY, and retired from the Maintenance Department at Mike Miller Park in Draffenville, KY.
He was a member of Hardin Church of Christ.
Surviving are daughters, Melody R. Higgins, husband Kerry of Almo, KY and Kathy Vincent, husband Greg of Mayfield, KY; brothers, John Prentice Travis of Hardin, KY, Gerald Travis, wife Brenda of Paducah, KY and Harold "Bine" Travis of Benton, KY; sister, Sue Beard, husband Johnny of Hardin, KY; step-grandchildren; Jasmin Dunigan, husband Keaton and Jamii Vincent, step-great granddaughter, Neely Dunigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ozene Travis and granddaughter, Kayla Higgins.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Chris Lyden will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Unity Cemetery, Hardin, KY.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
