Charles O. Beckham, 88, of Boaz, KY died Monday at 7:16 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital. Charles was of Church of Christ faith, retired farmer and worked for twelve years with James R. Cash Auctioneers. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, flying 31 missions over occupied Germany as a Ball Turret Gunner on B17 Bombers. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.
Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Martha Jane Wilson Beckham, one daughter, Wilda Ann (Hulan) Oliver of Melber, KY, one son, James Owen Beckham of Boaz, KY; four grandchildren, Melissa Beckham (Marc) Born, Erin Ann Oliver, James (Ronza) Oliver and Richard (Lynda) Oliver; three great-grandchildren, Kemper Beckham Born, Austin Oliver and Andrew Oliver, two aunts, Clarice Mathis of Paducah, KY and Elaine Wingo of Lexington, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were parents, Leslie Vernon Beckham & Ovelia Wyatt Beckham, two brothers, Leslie V. Beckham and Glenn Beckham.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Dr. Christopher Beckham officiating. Burial will follow at Pottsville Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors. The Beckham family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
Serving as pall bearers will be Bud Beckham, Craig Beckham, Rex Beckham, Rick Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Daniel Jones, Brad Jones, Jimmy Jones, James Oliver, Marc Born and Richard Oliver.
