Donald Ray Birdsong, age 67, of Calvert City, KY, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Baptist Health Paducah.
Mr. Birdsong was of the Methodist Faith, he was retired after 42 years from Barkley Lock and Dam as a Lock and Dam Operator with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran.
Mr. Birdsong is survived by a son, Kevin Birdsong of Calvert City, KY; two grandchildren, Jacob Birdsong and Nolan Birdsong; sister, Barbara Heater and husband Carl of Grand Rivers, KY; nephew, Carl R. Heater of Madison, Al; brother, Jerry Birdsong of Paducah, KY; nephew, Jerry R. Birdsong of Paducah, KY; special friend, Brenda Dunigan of Draffenville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Vernice Lewis Birdsong.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will be held at a later date at Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers, KY.
