Harold E. Cheatham, age 80, of Melber passed away at 7:11 am on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital.
He was a member of Massac United Methodist Church and a member of Gideon’s International. He retired from Mid-South Towing as a Chief Engineer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Glennes Evans Cheatham of Melber, KY; daughters, Karen Mac Dougall of Long Beach, CA, Kathy Cheatham of Sonora, CA, Paula Cheatham of Sonora, CA, Susie Griffith of Reno, NV, Janine Cheatham of Oklahoma; son, Richard Cheatham of New London, CT; step-daughter, Linda Apperson and husband Otis of Melber, KY; sisters, Betty Williams of DeSoto, MO, Evelyn Cheatham of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Karen Burnett and husband Stan of Melber, KY, Annette Hammonds of Melber, KY and Michael Apperson and wife Paula of Norfolk, VA; seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard E. and Evelyn Roberta Williams Cheatham; sister, Elaine Atchison.
Funeral services for Howard E. Cheatham will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of the Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. John Smithmier officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Chapel Cemetery in Melber. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
