Jewell D “Biggum” Houser age 88, Boaz, KY passed away at 6:38 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a long time member of Houser Grove Church of Christ. He retired as truck driver for Duke & Long and drove for Paducah Bottling/Pepsi for 18 years and was still an active farmer. Jewell D. was a veteran of U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.
Survivors include one daughter, Melony (Barry) Englert of Paducah,KY; one son, Jewell Lynn (Susan)Houser of Boaz, KY; one brother, Randal (Carolyn) Houser of Paducah; two grandchildren, Shae (Drew) Ramage and Lucas (Ellie) Englert; two great grandchildren, Ross Ramage and Riley Ramage; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Preceding in death was his wife of 67 years, Peggy Cooper Houser; his father, Johnnie James Houser and one sister, Violet Eddings.
Services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Jerry Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Houser Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
