Mr. M.R. Keeling, age 90 of
Hickory, Ky was born on June 15, 1928 in Marshall County, Ky near Calvert City,
Ky, he passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at
10:10 AM at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Ky.
He was one of ten children, 5 boys and 5 girls to Walter Arval & ILona Bell
Fowler Keeling. M.R. met his Lord and Savior at the age of 22, he was employed
by the I.C.R.R. for over 40 years, he was a registered Black Angus Cattle
Farmer, a member of the Hickory Baptist Church, and a member of the Folsomdale
Masonic Lodge #283 F&AM for 65 years.
He married Dorothy Alma
Pennebaker Keeling on November 2, 1945 and they had two sons- Leland (Sheila)
Keeling of Hickory, Ky and Eddie (Vickie) Keeling of Hickory, Ky; five
grandchildren- Angela “Angie” (Kenny) Traylor of Mayfield, Ky, Lance (Emilie)
Keeling of Fancy Farm, Ky, Clint (Heather) Keeling of Symsonia, Ky, Tandi Lee
Owen of Hickory, Ky, and Dallen (Courtney) Keeling of Hickory, Ky; one brother-
James Keeling of Dexter, Ky; five sisters- Aleen Ford of Calvert City, Ky,
Irene Freeman of Calvert City, Ky, Wanda Evans of Grand Rivers, Ky, Linda Beck
of Newport, Ky, and Neeta Hale of Calvert City, Ky; three stepdaughters- Starla
(Terry) Smith of Pinson, Tn, Darlene (Philip) Allen of Pinson, Tn, and Brenda
Diggs of Nashville, Tn; 9 great-grandchildren survive, and many nieces &
nephews also survive.
Mr. Keeling was preceded in
death by his two wives- Dorothy Alma Pennebaker Keeling and Alenia Collins
Diggs Keeling; three brothers- Walter Thomas Keeling, Loy Leland Keeling, and
Johnny L. Keeling; one stepson- David Diggs; one grandson-in-law- Randy Owen;
parents- Walter Arval & ILona Bell Fowler Keeling.
Funeral Services will be held
on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky
with Rev. Willis Henson and Rev. Rob Davis officiating. Burial will follow in
the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Thursday,
August 23, 2018 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky.
Pallbearers will be: Kenny
Traylor, Lance Keeling, Clint Keeling, Dallen Keeling, Logan Traylor, Luke
Keeling, and Isaiah Keeling.
Honorary Pallbearers will be:
Carter Keeling, Max Keeling, Chase Keeling, Arthur “Bo” Johnson, Jr., Philip
Allen, Terry Smith, The Men’s #2 Sunday School Class of Hickory Baptist Church,
and the Parksburg Baptist Church Geo Crawford Sunday School Class.
