Mrs. Margie Marie (Smith) Barrett, age 95 of Calvert City, KY died on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Dawson Springs Health and Rehab in Dawson Springs, KY. She was a homemaker and long-time member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church.
Born Wednesday, May 10, 1922 in Marshall County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John E. Smith and the late Mary E. (Dishman) Smith.
Surviving are sons, David Lee Barrett (JoeAnn) of Hopkinsville, KY, Donald Gilbert Barrett (Susan) of Calvert City, KY, and Leon Wesley Barrett of Calvert City, KY, sister, Rebecca Vickers of Manistique, MI, grandsons, Marty Barrett (Beverly), Randy Barrett (Amy), Barry Barrett (Missy), Matthew Barrett, Kevin Barrett (Brandy), Bryan Barrett (Charla), granddaughters, Melissa Byars (Jeff), Kimberly Smith (Joshua), 4 great grandsons, 7 great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wesley Jewell Barrett, brother, Floyd "Bill" Smith, and sister, Maretta Ward.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Elder Danny Ferrell and Elder Robert Chandler officiating.
Interment will follow in Fooks Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home.
