Margie Bell Garnett Nance, 88, of Mayfield, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 9:55 pm at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
Margie was born December 1, 1925 to Charles and Birdie Garnett in Melber, KY. She was a member of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church since childhood and retired from the Graves County Board of Education. She will be remembered as a woman who deeply loved her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Nance Gourley and husband Luther, of Melber, KY, Lisa Nance Jones and husband Jeff, of Hickory, KY, Tina Nance Skaggs and husband Jeff, of Mayfield, KY; her son, Rick Nance and wife Anne Newberry, of Murray, KY; her grandchildren, Jennifer Gourley Hunter, Jared Jones, Erick Jones, Derek Nance, Kayla Jones Brown, Alexandra Nance; her great grandchildren, Rylee Brown, Gavin Jones and Ella Jones.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, James Nance; her parents, Charles Washington Garnett and Birdie Lee Watson Garnett; three sisters and two brothers.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Owens Chapel Cemetery in Melber, KY. Jarred Jones and Derek Nance will officiate.
Visitation will take place Friday, February 21, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
