Melissa Sykes

Melissa Ruth Walls Sykes, 57, of Murray, Kentucky, died Monday, December 8, 2014. 

Melissa was born on June 14, 1957 in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late Harold C. Walls and Lucy Wright Walls. She was a clerk at Piggly Wiggly and attended Sugar Creek Baptist Church with her mother. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Benny Walls and sister, Becky Holt. 

She is survived by her mother, Lucy Wright Walls of Murray, Kentucky; sons, Keith Ramey (Mollie) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, Tommy Ramey of Murray, Kentucky and stepson, Chris Sykes (Megan) of Alabama; brothers, Danny Walls (Peggy) of Lexington, Kentucky, Tommy Walls (Yolanda) of Murray, Kentucky and Tim Walls (Sue) of Murray, Kentucky; sister, Jeannie Bright (Leslie) of Paris, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Ramey, Kylie Ramey and Sophia Ramey; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Imes Funeral Home and Crematory, downtown Murray. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn Beard, Chris Walls, Sam Holt, Josh Harris, Billy Walls and Chris Bell. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
