Mr. Monroe Harlan York, 87 of Benton, KY died on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at his home. He was a member of Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Born Thursday, October 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Tommie York and the late Effie (Fulks) York.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Ruth Emily (Wyatt) York of Benton, KY, son, Danny (Tanja) York of Benton, KY, daughter, Cathy (York) McGuire of Benton, KY, brother, Jerry Dean York of Benton, KY, sisters, Ernestine Goins of Bay Minette, AL, Linda Humphrey of Benton, KY, Mary Cornwell of Benton, KY, Shellia Farmer of Murray, KY grandchildren, Laressa (Brett) Bazzell of Murray, KY, Eddie (Taleah) McGuire of Benton, KY, Cassie (Lee) Childress of Calvert City, KY, great-grandchildren, Ashley Bazzell, Gage Bazzell, Kaitlyn McGuire, Jordan McGuire, Claire Childress, Emily Childress, and great-great grandchild, Darius Bazzell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Marvin York, and sisters, Audrey Bray and Dorothy Ham.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025.
Interment will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
