Mr. Raymond Curtis Parker Jr, 91, of New Concord, KY died Friday, August 28, 2015 at his home.

Raymond was born in Greenville, KY on July 16, 1924 to the late Jack and Hallie Walls Parker. Raymond joined the 3CC when he was 16 years old and served his country during WWII as a private in the United States Army. He worked for 35 years for Inland Steel in Gary, IN before retiring and moving to New Concord, where he built his dream home on 50 acres. He raised cattle and loved fishing, hunting, gardening and reading his Bible. Raymond and Almyra enjoyed traveling, having traveled to seven countries. He was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church Organization, the American Legion and regularly attended the Murray Calloway County Senior Center. He served his church,community and country is several capacities over the span of several years including helping build a church in Crown Point, IN. 

Raymond is survived by his wife, Almyria Arney Parker of New Concord; daughter, Kathryn Lewis (Steve) of Murray; son, Curtis Parker (Beverly) of Fleming Island, FL; brother, Woodrow Parker of Michigan; seven grandchildren, Timothy Lewis, LaShawna Turnbow, Jacinda Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Corey Parker, Courtney Barlow, Brittany Ferguson and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Parker.

Funeral services are planned for 10:00 AM, Friday September 4, 2015 at the Imes Funeral Home, downtown Murray. Jessie Caveness will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, West in Hopkinsville.

The family will receive visitors between 3-6 PM, Thursday, September 3 and 8-10 AM, Friday, September 4 at the funeral home.
