Ruth Skelton, age 85, passed away on Thursday, November 07, 2019.
Mrs. Skelton was born in Madison, Indiana on September 3, 1934 to the late Glenn Richard and Dorothy Cash. She worked at the Western Baptist Hospital Child Development Center and was known to half of Paducah as “Mrs. Ruth”. She was a member of Millers Chapel Baptist Church and more recently attended Salt and Light Church. She was a member of the DAV and was an avid fisherman. She will be remembered for her mothering nature who loved and took care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and many others.
Mrs. Skelton is survived by her three children, Vickie Elaine Skelton of Paducah, Glenn Richard Skelton (Cassy) of Paducah, and Julie Riley (Gary) of Mayfield; one sister, Janice Cash of Paducah; and six grandchildren, Gary Dean Riley, Brad “BJ” Summers, Jason Riley, Tana Williams, Jean Ann Davenport, and Eli Gonzalez; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Artie Skelton, her parents, and her granddaughter, Tara Skelton Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Miller Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 2:00 pm service time on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
