Terry Wayne Smith, 75, of Clinton, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 30th, 2017 at his residence.
Terry was born in Arlington, KY on January 6th, 1942 to Walton Rudolph Smith and Mable Geneva (Burgess) Smith. Terry graduated from Hickman County High School in 1960 and went on to a long career in construction and farming. He was a long time member of Shiloh Methodist Church and was a member of the Laborers’ Local 1214.
Terry was married to Glenda Faye (Edging) Smith for 44 years before her passing. Together, they created a tight knit family which was always at the center of Terry’s life. He was a giving man who loved to help others and would gladly give the shirt off his back to a person in need. Later in life, Terry developed a passion for dog breeding, raising many breeds including English Bulldogs, Pomeranians, Shih-Tzu’s and Golden-Doodles and even raised ostriches at his home. When he wasn’t farming or working with his dogs, he also promoted Mud Boggs all over the Tri-State area.
Terry is survived by one daughter, Lanetta Faye Bodkin and husband, Andy of Clinton, KY; two grandchildren, Adrienne Barnt and husband, Doug of Clinton, KY, and Hillary Bodkin and wife Samantha of Clinton, KY; five great-grandchildren, Zane and Vance Barnt, Clyde Michaels and Hailey and Adison Embrey; and one daughter-in-law, Darla Smith Hayden of Fancy Farm, KY.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Faye; parents Walton and Mable Smith; one son, Phillip Wayne Smith; and one grandchild, Joshua Wayne Smith.
Funeral services will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at 2 pm with Laura Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
