Uva Nell Erickson

Mrs. Uva Nell Erickson, age 88, of Muskegon, Michigan passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. 

She was born in New Concord, Kentucky on September 27, 1926 to the late Arthur and Ruby (Knight) Jewell. She married William A. Erickson Jr. in Muskegon on November 20, 1948 and they shared 63 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2013 at the age of 90. 

After completing high school, Mrs. Erickson attended Draughn Business College in Paducah, Kentucky and after her children began college she worked in accounting and billing at Viking Foods and then Coles Quality Foods from which she retired after 20 years. Mrs. Erickson enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, quilting and gardening. She was a member of the Muskegon Church of Christ. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Norma (J.C.) Hale and Euple (Robert) Rowland of Murray, Kentucky.

She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Erickson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one son, Mark Erickson of Muskegon; one sister, Doris (Bernard) Tabors of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother, Preston Jewell of Murray; one sister-in-law, Mary Erickson of Muskegon; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Imes Funeral Home and Crematory, downtown Murray location. Interment will follow at the Murray City Cemetery of Murray. 

Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Imes Funeral Home and Crematory, downtown Murray.
