R.N. “Bob” Samples, 94 of Clinton passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at Clinton Place. He was a 62 year member of Clinton First Baptist Church, a farmer and farm equipment dealer, retiring at the age of 91. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in WWII with the Signal Corp. He was a 1948 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.S. degree in Dairy Science. He is survived by his children, Gordon Samples and Wanda (Jim) Holbrook, both of Clinton, brother, Melvin Samples of Carlisle County, sister, Betty Samples Hobbs of Lone Oak, 4 grandchildren, Michelle Hawkins, Shane Samples and Ellen Samples, all of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Joshua Samples of Lexington, and 6 great grandchildren. He was a grandfather figure to many . Bob was an avid beekeeper since the age of 12, and provided the county with delicious honey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ethel McGary Samples, his wife Ruby Estes Samples, 1 brother and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. Kevin Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
