Dorotha Lee Ezell Pharis passed from this earthly life at her home in Clinton on July 5, 2017.  She was born in the Shiloh Community September 21, 1920 to Thomas Little and Jessie Greer Ezell and was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Pharis was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Marell Ezell Malak, Nellene Ezell Ward and brother Thomas Harold Ezell.  She attended Murray State University and married Thurman Coley Pharis in 1940. Their marriage ended in 2003 with his death, but her love for him remained until her last breath.  The marriage was blessed with three children, James Larry Pharis (JoAnn), Judy Pharis Jones (Buford) and Phyllis Ezell Pharis Baete.  Her life was enriched by her loved grandchildren: Michael Hinkle (Tracy), Scott Lee Pharis, Dena Baete Shofner (Mark), Joseph Morgan Baete (Sandi) and Kelly Pharis Baete Doyle (James).  She was great grandmother to Peyton and Preston Hinkle and Thatcher Pharis; a beloved Mama Dofe to Kyle, Kameron and Keaton Shofner and Madeline, Dylan and Josie Baete, and “I love you and I mean it” MeMe to Jackson Thomas and Kaitlyn Greer Doyle.  Aunt Dorotha is also survived by many nephews and nieces whom she loved as they loved her.  She will be missed by her cat, Palmyra and pup, Peyton.  The family would like to thank Angel Yarbrough for her care and love of Ms. Dorotha. 

 

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1 PM at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens, Hwy 51, Fulton, KY with Cecil May officiating.  Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Clinton-Hickman County Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 83, Clinton, KY 42031.  Brown Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
