Dorothy Nell Jones Harper, 102 of Clinton passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at her residence. She was a member of the Clinton First United Methodist Church and a Homemaker. She enjoyed writing poetry and has had 6 books published. She is survived by her son, Reginald “Reggie” Harper of Clinton, 2 grandchildren, Todd (Karen) Harper and Amy Harper, both of Clinton, 3 great-grandchildren, Hope (Brett) Johnson of Paducah, Christina Harper of Clinton and Kate (Max) Jewell of Memphis, TN and 1 great-great-grandson Grey Jewell of Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Joe and Sarah Helen Yancy Jones, her husband, William “Bill” Harper, 1 grandson, Kevin Harper, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Clinton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Vida McClure and Rev. John Varden officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Friends may call from 11-1:00 PM on Saturday at the church. Brown Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements. Donations: Clinton-Hickman Co.
