Mr. Bobby Gene Knight, 80 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Benton, KY. He was a member of the Baptist Builders, Carpenters for Christ, Ramp Ministry, and was a Deacon at First Baptist Church. He was a resident Engineer for Excello Pak Corp.
Born Friday, June 30, 1939 in Paducah, KY, he was the son of the late Herbert Knight and the late Virginia (Slagle) Knight.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Carol (Brigman) Knight of Benton, KY, son, David Eric Knight, wife Joni of Gilbertsville, KY, daughter, Karen Jean Jones, husband Jeff of Gilbertsville, KY, grandchildren, Dustin Knight, wife Bethany of Lexington, KY, Josh Knight, wife Jennifer of Benton, KY, Kelsey Jones of Gilbertsville, KY, Karlee Jones of Gilbertsville, KY, Bobby Jones of Gilbertsville, KY, and great-grandchildren, Phoenix Knight, Clara Knight, Ada Knight, and Izzy Knight.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles "Bill" William Knight.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Don Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in Maple Springs Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home.
