Beverly Bushong

Harriet Beverly Gaebe Bushong, 91, of Paducah, died Friday, December 8, 2017 at Superior Care Home.

Beverly was born in Woodlawn, IL on November 22, 1926 to Emil and Louetta Gaebe.  She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  Beverly modeled the Christian lifestyle by example and sacrificed her own needs for those of her family and community. After moving to Paducah, Beverly became a longtime and active member of Reidland Christian Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, working in the nursery and being involved in mission work.  In addition, she volunteered for Paducah Cooperative Ministry by driving those in need to doctor appointments and on errands.  She was also active at Farley Elementary where she read to the students and helped them with multiplication tables.  Her family was her greatest joy and hobby of her life.  Rare was the time that she missed any event involving her children and grandchildren.  She also worked as a legal secretary/office manager for several lawyers throughout the area.

Beverly is survived by her loving family, children, Roger Earl (Patti) Bushong of Normal, IL, Rodney (Debbie) Bushong of Paducah, Luann A (Ronnie) Hollis of Calvert City; grandchildren, Dustin (Savannah) Brown of Benton, Chelsea (Matt) Termeer of Barbados, Austin Brown of Calvert City, Erich Bushong of Dallas, and Cameron (fiancé, Kheeli Ferrel) Brown of Calvert City; three great-grandchildren, Abigail and Samuel Termeer and Ella Kate Brown; and sister-in-law, Sherry Gaebe of Woodlawn, IL.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Earl Raymond Bushong; sister, Henrietta Ferguson; brother, Don Gaebe; brother-in-law, Archie Ferguson; and parents, Emil and Louetta Laney Gaebe.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Zach Browning officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will begin at 11am Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care Beverly received in the Memory Care Unit of Superior Care Home.
