James “Jim” York, 76, of Paducah, died Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.

Jim was retired from Mac Pac Inc. where he was a UPS shipping clerk and truck mechanic. he was a member of Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He also loved and played baseball with the Paducah Chiefs.

Jim loved old cars, hunting and fishing and Nascar. He was an avid gardener and loved working in the yard. In his younger days he loved drag racing, stock car racing, and traveling with the guys to Nascar races.

Jim was a good and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved everybody and never met a stranger.

Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha Herrington York; three children, Danny York of Paducah, Tammy York of Princeton, and Brian York of Paducah; four grandchildren, Jennifer Carmen Robbins of Gilbertsville, James Michael Knight of Eddyville, James Reece York of Paducah, and Breanna York of Paducah; four great grandchildren, Hailey McCoy of Mayfield, C orbin McCoy of Mayfield, Eli Robbins of Gilbertsville, and Olivia Robbins of Gilbertsville; one sister,  Joyce York Armstrong of Paducah; sister in law, Brenda (Ricky) Green of Paducah; brother in law Richard (Brenda) Herrington; and three close nephews, Brad Tyler of Ohio, James Tyler of California, and Terry Tyler of St. Louis, MO.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 23rd, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah from 1pm until 3pm, with services starting at 3pm with Dr. Chris Flemming officiating.
