Raygan Lyn Thompson, 39, passed away Wednesday September 19, 2018 at her home.
She was born at Western Baptist Hospital on May 2, 1979.  She was raised in the Farley community and graduated from Reidland High School.  She earned an associate’s degree from WKCTC.

Raygan had a quick wit, a bright mind, and a kind and caring soul.  She liked to hike in the woods, listen to music, loved animals, and going fishing, drag racing.  And like her dad, she had a “thang” for Studebaker cars.  Raygan was an avid reader of diverse subjects and sought out the truth through knowledge.  She didn’t let friends and family change the way she thought and believed.  And would not hesitate to tell you so.

She is survived by her parents, Russell and Berna (Bunny) Thompson of Paducah.  Numerous aunts & uncles and cousins, all of whom she loved very much.  She maintained close friends, dating back to Farley Elementary School.  They were all thought of as part of her extended family.  She left behind three fat, spoiled cats.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Mildred Thompson and maternal grandparents Bernard Cunningham and Emma Hodge, great grandparents and aunts and uncles.

Her remains will be cremated.  There will be no services at this time.  A celebration of her life will be held at later date.

Memorial donation in her name, may be left to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 30105.  Or Project Hope No-Kill Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 125, Metropolis, Il.   And McCracken County Humane Society, 4000 Coleman Road, Paducah, 42001.
