Virginia Mae Hancock, 79, of Eddyville, KY passed away October 10, 2019 at Rivers Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa, KY.
She was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church. She was a seamstress and made custom made draperies. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Princeton, KY.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, COL (Ret, USA) Jackie Roger Hancock, of Eddyville, and son Roger Gordon Hancock and wife Dana of Benton, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Anthony Ham Sr. and Nettie Nell Lowery Ham, son Robert David Hancock, brothers Robert Anthony Ham, Jr., Charles Clayton Ham, and Winford Earl Ham, sisters Gladys Irene Smith, Mary Louise Groennert, Rosie Nell Sinkler, Mildred Sue Filbeck and Margaret Jean Youngblood. One great-grand-daughter Isabella Grace Oakley.
She is survived by two sisters, Frances Kay Cope and husband Jimmie of Benton, KY; Valleta Jo Sirls and husband Doug Sirls of Benton, KY; and one brother Ralph Rufus Ham of Cincinnati, OH, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchilden, four step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, October 13, 2019 in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home with Tim Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
