It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin and Friend - Anita Bernice (Brandon) Ptak of Apollo Beach, FL. Anita passed from this Earth while on vacation in Alaska on August 26th. She was 56 years old. Born June 24, 1962 in Fort Gordon, Georgia, she was the daughter of Jerma Sue and Harold Brandon.

While Anita has lived in Florida for the past 25 years, she loved coming home to Kentucky. She enjoyed fishing on KY lake, sitting on the porch with her parents, and spending time with her niece and nephews. She was also a huge UK Basketball fan. Her lively personality and infectious laugh will be missed by all that knew and loved her; including her beloved yellow Lab, Jasper.

Anita graduated from Marshall County High School in 1980. She has been a loyal employee of TESINC for the last 35 years.

She is survived by her loving parents; one sister Carol (husband Keith) Steele; one brother Jeff (wife Lea Ann) Brandon all of Benton, KY; and nephews Tyler (wife Tara) Brandon, Salem, NJ; Seth (fiancé Melanie) Brandon, Benton, KY; Kaleb Steele, Los Angeles, CA; Noah Steele, Benton, KY; one niece, Ellie Steele, Benton, KY; and one great-niece, Tessa Lee Brandon, Salem, NJ.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Raymond and Earlene Ray, Dyke and Juanita Brandon, and her son Cory Ryan Ptak.

The family will receive friends at the Collier Funeral Home Saturday, September 15th from 5:00 to 8:00 P. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday September 16th at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist church on Big Bear Hwy. Anita’s brother-in-law, Keith Steele, will officiate the service.
