Barbara Downs Tutt

Mrs. Barbara Tutt, 88, of Murray, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

Mrs. Tutt was born October 18, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee to Johnny David and Beulah Wiggins Downs. She graduated from Murray High School in 1949  and retired after 35 years from the agriculture department of Murray State University. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Murray.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tutt was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tutt and a brother, John Howard Downs.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie Jeffrey Carson (Larry) of Kirksey; step-son, Douglas Russell Tutt (Tina) of Nashville, TN; a sister, Nelda Murphy of Murray; grandchildren, Kili Hanes (Shawn), Laramie Carson; step-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Olivia Tutt; great grandchildren, Jack Hanes (Katherine), Caedmon Hanes, Gabe Carson, Kiliana Carson, Daymond Carson and a great-great grandchild, Henry Hanes.

A drive through visitation will be held from 6 -7 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 North, Murray.  Please enter the parking lot of the Heritage Chapel off of Lowes Drive to be directed through the visitation line.  You will exit the visitation line onto Highway 121 North.  An in-person visitation will also be held from 10 AM - 11 AM on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Boyd Smith will officiate and burial will follow at Murray City Cemetery.  Her family will serve as pallbearers.
