Mr. Billy L. Barnett, 70, of Calvert City, formerly of Murray, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Oak View Nursing Home in Calvert City.
Billy was born in Murray, KY on April 21, 1948 to William and Ladora Garrison Barnett. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Mr. Barnett is preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Barnett; a sister, Shirley Scott, as well as his parents.
Surviving him are two sons, William Walker of Eddyville, KY, Herbie Barnett (Kim) of Murray; a daughter, Missy Schmeing (Adam) of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Carol Hodges and Margie King (Ricky); six grandchildren, Kala Phillips, Austin Barnett, Ashton Barnett, Seth Walker, Emelia Walker and Abigal Schmeing; two great grandchildren, Brylee Phillips and Emery Barnett and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Barnett is set for 2 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, downtown Murray. Clint McCoy will officiate and burial will follow at Barnett Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Austin Barnett, Ronald Hodges, David Landis, Adam Schmeing, Tyler Dunn and Herbie Barnett.
His family will receive visitors from 5 PM-8 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the funeral home.
