Mrs. Dortha Mae Lovett, age 95 of Murray, KY passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Born Tuesday, August 2, 1921 in Calloway Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Chester Arthur Burkeen and the late Alma (Miller) Burkeen. She was a wife, mother and homemaker and was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 60 years.
Surviving are son, Billy Joe Lovett of Murray, KY, daughter, Sandra Cope of Benton, KY; five grandchildren; Tona Walker, husband Barry of Calvert City, KY, Tony Lovett, wife Sarah of Murray, KY, Tina Cook, husband Timmy of Murray, KY, Denny Copy, wife Amanda of Benton, KY, and Jeff Cope of Benton, KY, nine great-grandchildren; Cassie Thompson, husband Shane of Hardin, KY, Clint Walker and Kelly Walker both of Calvert City, KY, Hannah Lovett, Garrett Lovett and Corby Cook all of Murray, Denver Riley Cope, Ethan Colson and Trevor Ellenburger all of Benton, KY, 5 great great-grandchildren, Tate Wilson of Hardin, KY, and Cameron Cook of Murray, KY, Cade Cook of Murray, KY, Chapman Thompson of Hardin, KY, and Mairkqus Thompson of Murray, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 73 years, Grover Town Lovett, also by her son, Bobby Dale Lovett, daughter-in-law, Rita Lovett, son-in-law, Jerry Ray Cope, one brother, Homer Carver Burkeen, two sisters, Eulala Mardis and Lela Kay York.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Rev. Brian Hayes and Rev. Ronnie Burkeen will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Unity Cemetery, Hardin, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
