Edwin Jennings

Mr. Edwin Jennings, age 70, of Murray, KY died at 5:55pm Thursday at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital. He was born May 6, 1943 in Murray, KY. His parents were George Kerby Jennings & Dorothy (Hagan) Jennings. One sister; Edna Kerby Jennings also preceded him in death.

Mr. Jennings was a member of Hardin Baptist Church, and a retired school teacher with Ivy Tech. He was a 1990 graduate of Murray State University, a 1961 graduate of Murray High School, a former Singer Sewing Machine dealer, and was very instrumental in the late 1960's with the Calloway Co. Rescue Squad where he served as Fire Chief.

He is survived by his wife; Peggy (Hall) Jennings to whom he was married Sept. 28, 1963, three daughters; Renee Thurman (L.T.), of Dexter, KY, Shawnee Hill (Ronnie) and Cory Jennings all of Murray, KY, one brother; O.J. Jennings III (June), of Shelbyville, KY, one sister; Doris Frazer (Fred), of Murray, KY, six grandchildren; Kristie Blake, Holly Long, Emily Cope, David Hill, Gabby Hill, & Timmy Thurman, seven great grandchildren; Alexander Blake, Zayden Mikulich, Belle Long, Kaydence Long, Arrista Cope, Becca Hill & Lizzy Hill along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 4:00pm Sunday at the Murray City Cemetery, with Rev. Ricky Cunningham officiaiting. There will be no visitation.
