George Doty, 82 of Gilbertsville, KY passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at his residence in Gilbertsville, KY. He was a cabinet and furniture maker and a member of Central Church of Christ.
Born Tuesday, March 17, 1936 in Zion, IL, he was the son of the late Veryl Doty and the late Anna McElroy Doty.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judi (Morrow) Doty; one son, Michael Scott wife Susan of Paducah, KY; daughters, Sheila Fritts of Wickenburg, AZ, Kimberly Summers husband Nick of Mayfield, KY and Meri Colleary of Dunedin, FL; sister, Vaneda Peters of Hernando, FL; nine grandchildren, Jesse David Ordunez, Nic Ordunez, John Ordunez, Logan Fritts, Jordan Colleary, Shawn Scott, Dane Needham, Trace Scott, Shelby Cline; and six great grandchildren, Clayton, Kamryn, Caraline, Linkin, Mia, Oliver.
He was preceaded in death by his parents and one great grandchild, Sawyer.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Collier Funeral Chapel, 211 West 5th St., Benton, Kentucky with Charles Brien officiating.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Collier Funeral Chapel.
Interment with Military Honors will be in Benton Cemetery, Benton, KY.
