Mr. James (Jim) Jomes, age 96, of Murray, KY died at 5:30am Wednesday at his home. He was born Feb. 18, 1917 in Centerville, IL to the late Charles & Bertha (Stanley) Jones. He was a member of First Christian Church in Aurora, KY, The V.F.W. , The American Legion, a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, and the retired co-owner of Twin Lakes Shoreline Improvement Co. along with Bob Ross and later Jim McNeely.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife; Maxine (Pierson) Jones to whom he was married Dec. 22,1970, two step daughters; Vonnie Hembree, of Hattiesburg, MS, and Jan Erkman (Ed), of Murray, KY, nine grandchildren, twenty one great grand children, and four great great grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by six sisters; Martha Watkins, Nancy Stone, Bessie Hunsinger, Maude Whiting, Mary Jones & Grace Jones, and one brother; Lewis Jones. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday at BLALOCK-COLEMAN & YORK FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Ivan Judd officiating. Friends may visit from noon until the funeral hour on Friday at BLALOCK-COLEMAN & YORK.
