James Thomas Downing, 69, of Benton passed away Wednesday evening at his home. He was a Vietnam Veteran, and a retired bus driver for Paducah Area Transit Systems.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Marlene of Benton; two sons, Jeffery Downing of Benton, and Jamie Downing of Georgia; two daughters, Jerri McNeal of Paducah, and Terra Hayes of Graves County; one sister, Linda VanBuskirk of Ocala, Florida; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Jana Lynn Downing.
A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel in Paducah on Monday April 14th from 12 to 1pm.
